Pastor Dan Schmidt
Ever since I can remember Jesus has been a part of my life. He’s helped me see that my identity is not found in my job, my marital status, how much money I’ve made or what I’ve done with my life. He’s shown me that at my core I am a child of God, forgiven and set free from my sins. And my greatest desire is to show others the same is true for them.
I received my pastoral training at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and seminary training at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI.
Since then, I’ve served in Saginaw, MI as a high school religion teacher and Spanish teacher. I then met my wife Andrea and she helped me plant a bilingual church in the heart of the inner city of Detroit, MI. We then served in a mission setting in Oconomowoc, WI and were given the opportunity to plant another church in Tyler, TX.
Andrea and I have four beautiful children and are excited to serve the surrounding communities of Excelsior.
“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17
Being part of the network of churches known as the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) allows Faith to support training for new pastors, deploy missionaries across the world, and make a sizable impact that we could not do alone.
Check this link for regular updates about the gospel work the WELS does in the United States and across the world.
